|
|
I took my car in for RWC and it failed, problems are:
* Door rubbers need to be re-fitted
* Bright brake light and number plate light not working
* Wiper blades (that is BS I changed them 1 month ago)
* Engine oil leak
* Engine needs to be degreased
* Drivers side seatbelt frayed
The only major things are the seatbelt and door rubbers, the other stuff is nothing to fix.
I probably have a seatbelt already sourced but the door rubbers - what will that cost me ?? The ones I have are shrunk and don't properly, so those ones can be re-fitted. Any idea people ??
Cheers

with the door rubbers get another shrunken set and join em together with yours then glue em back on or buy new one's bit expensive but i think |

That's the trick, go to Clark Rubber. The thing to remember when fitting them is to cut them slightly longer than the measurement around the door, coz they shrink a little and you don't want a small gap between the ends of the rubber. |

Yea I know new ones are expensive - more than what I am going to be selling my car for almost !!
I know a guy who hase a TE wreck (I have a TE) whom I got an indicator lense off and some tyres, i'll hit him for the door rubbers and do the joining trick.
It turns out that I may not have a seatbelt sourced, the guy with the gemini wreck I mentioned has his seatbeltts all frayed also ( Seatbelts are about $60 new from supercheapo auto, but I am sure I could get one from the wreckers for less.
Cheers for the help ) |

Rare Spares do rubbers for about $70/door - that was for the panelvan though - it didn't cost a mint to do, but bearing in mind I only have 3 door openings so that could be the reason. |

$60 for a new seatbelt. I looked up the definition of tightass in the dictionary, but I couldn't find your picture. Is it possible that I have an old edition? |

run a lighter along the edges of the seatbelt to rid it of the frayed section |

sedan $34.80, boot seal $26.40
its for american auto parts, its an old add so prices would have changed, worth a try |
