This is a serious question, and I need a quick answer cos' its all happening next week. I've asked it a few times but Either don't understand it or it doesn't answer my question.
1) Has anyone used king spring super lows on their tf or te gemini it is supposed to drop it three inches?
2) Was the bitch legal or did you have to change to just lows king springs
3) Has anyone lowered a car with a three inch exhaust and how low did you go legally. I live in queensland so it may vary. So if you did lower it with a three inch exhaust then how high was the exhaust.
4) I have cheviot dragway look alikes. They are thirteen inch and have 205s on them it looks like when i lower them the front may be fine but the rear tyres are like in line with the guards at the moment. Anyone dun it and if they did did they have to get the guards rolled or did they have to go to a panel beater and do more serious guard rolling?
Please answer these questions quick and honestly and describe exactly what you mean. some people are confusing me by saying 1 and half inches is as low as you can go does this mean one and a half inches lower than standard height or 1 and a have inches off the ground.I am fairly sure that in qld it is the height of a coke can. Thanks heaps for your help. |

the height of a car in qld used to have a minimum height of 100mm at the lowest point under the car . You can now have 75mm at the lowest point under the car. I cheated and cut the bump stops to regain suspension travel. I know a few guys with super lows and they dont have too much of a problem but by the sounds of your wheels,,,,you might.
Guard flaring or rolling of the lip isnt too hard as long as you have a hammer & dolly ,a bit of 'beatin experience and a lot of pacience |

I've got super lows on my gem and I live in qld. I have 15in rims with 205's on them. the only problem I have is my tyres scrub when I hit a decent bump and I can't carry passengers in the back. My shocks are a bit stuffed and my guards are rolled but it's not to bad. You should be right with your rims though. |

cheap and easy way to roll your guards (inner lip) get a piece of pipe and slowly get someone to drive the car forward then back while you roll the pipe |

That makes absolutely no sense to me. Please explain?
I have been flicking through a Gemini magazine recently and looking at Geminis with rolled guards. I have decided I don't like them, IMHO it destroys the original look of the car with by removing the 1cm squared-off lip.
I saw one car in the magazine that looked good but that was a wagon and the only reason I liked the rolled guards was they had done the rears as well. Most ppl just roll the fronts and not the rears, which IMHO creates a visual imbalance.
On the subject of seriouslowering, if you're doing up a show car I can understand, but why lower a 'tough' street car to the point where it is undriveable.
Lowering your CofG another inch (from 1.5, or 3 or 3, whatever) is going to make a bees dick difference to how the car handles, and really only serves to increase the chance of things rubbing or bottoming out.
My TX was very low, still legal, but low enough that in order to put a trolley jack under the front, we had to physically lift the car up.
Now, if I were out on the open road in the middle of nowhere, I knew that I would have buckleys chance of fitting my OEM scissor jack under ANY point of the car to change a wheel.
I used to scrape guards slightly as well, so I can imagine what some of you must be experiencing. Can any of you steer to full or even half lock in either direction?
So for a road car, what is the point?
I am not being negative, only constructive (I hope). These are questions that I have and I find myself baffled as to why ppl make it unnecessarily hard for themselves.
Cheers |

What?
It looks better lowered 4" than 3"?
It looks better lowered 3" than 2"?
I know a lowered car looks better than one with a standard ride height (so I am all for lowering), but there is a point at which the negatives outweight the positives.
Saying 'it looks better' tells me that you don't care whether your car is unsafe... |

gem #1 in gallery is mine, i hve never scrubbed out. i recon 3 or 4" low looks mad, and if thats what you want then go 4 it. but do me a favour first... ask someone who has done it. its not pretty to see a show-gem STUCK on a speed hump. Wheres the practicality? it may look good but it will shit you to tears, i promise. |
