I have a problem with my whole driveline. I lowered my gem 2 1/2in and took out the mounts at the front of the torque tube to bring everything back in line. Now when I try to rev out 3rd and 4th I get a vibration from my drive train. I have more rpm to go but I can't use it cause it vibrates more than moves the car. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

try putting the mounts back in or you will fuck the whole driveline. i mean what did you think was going to happen when you took the mounts off. theyre not just there to look pretty

sounds like youve been doing a wheely or two
id say you have bent the toque tube shaft.
by taking out those mounting block all you do is change pinon angle of your diff thus making the car hookup better and greatering the chance of bending the shalft

The thing is I had an even bigger vibration before I took the mounts out when backing off in 5th. If I was to put them back in the vibration in 5th would come back.

sorry dude the only way to fix it is to replace the shaft
in side the torque tube .
its not that hard just undo the 2 front bolts and tailsharft then the 4 alankey bolts that mount it to your diff .
then just replace the hole thing .
A word the wise check the rubber mount on the front it maybe broken ?

check to see if the spring is still inside the front yoke of
the tailshaft if it is not the tailshaft will move back and forth everytie you accelerate and deccelerate thus possibly
causing a vibration .

Thanx heaps for your help guys. The guy who owned the car before me did nothing but burnouts. So I think I will be up for a new torque tube. I changed the gearbox recently and I put the spring back in so I know it's there. Do you know if I should be able to pick up a torque tube from the wreckers and maybe how much it would be. Cheers
