Over Heated Engine --(arbs)

Hey all
As of late my gem has been getting very hot.The guage is reading half way between c&h.Is that a bad sign?

Thats probably a little on the warm side. On my TC there is a break in the line between C and H about 1/4 of the way along, and the needle sits just below or right in the gap.
You could check that your fanbelt is tight enough, you should be able to turn the motor over by the fan blades (make sure you're in neutral!).
Also make sure you're running coolant (green stuff) not just water.

Mine reads half way between cold and hot too. Shouldnt be a prob, it is summer and seeing as gemis dont have cooling shrouds then the fan is almost useless

Not entirely true, if you don't believe me, remove the fan and go for a drive.

what i really meant was that it would be a whole lot more effective with a shroud

Thermo fans are the only way to go, trouble is the bastards are too dear!

IMHO the only way to go is a shrouded belt-driven fan sucking, with twin 12 inch thermo fans pushing, a 3 core radiator, external oil cooler and thermotape wrapped extractors..... But I have a look standing bias towards overkill.....
