Hi,
I have a Gemini TX 75',
I have recently gotten it for christmas but i have a few probs.
When i got the car, the car had no speedo needle, i what i wanted to do is try and fix it but i have to idea of how to get the counter block out. I have tried undoing the 2 screws up the top of the counter box but when i try and pull it, it doesnt come out. So i was wondering if someone could tell me how i could fix and have access to the speedo so i can put the needle back on.

Also my car was originally a 4 speed, but when i got it, it had been converted to a 5 speed gearbox. But there was one prob, is that the reverse lights dont work at all. I was wondering i anyone could tell me what the prob is, and is there a switch on the gearbox that might not be connected and where that switch might be.

Thanks alot everyone for your help and could anyone tell me a bit of backround info on the TX and the good and bad bits.
Thanks again

Yannick

i'm unsure about the speedo needle problem, i've never had to put a needle back on!!....as for the five speed, yes there is a reverse light switch on a gemini 5speed also a "top gear" switch that looks identical, however the reverse light switch is the rearmost one and points down, but your tx being previously an automatic car will have taken its signal for the reverse lights from the "t-bar"(inhibitor) assembly from inside the car, the simple fix is to obtain a gregorys manual and find the corresponding wires, make them longer and route thru the gear selector hole plug in and away you go....according to my tx gregorys manual the inhibitor switch wires should be red/black trace and red/blue trace these are or shud be below the carpet in the centre console somewhere and these two are used in the manual transmission for the reverse lights, just unplug them and reconnect them to the gearbox switch and your lights should go, you may have to "bridge" the inhibitor switch to enable your car to start but i'm unsure.....good luck....email me if you need more info.

sorry about the unintentional missinfo, i was looking at the forum list and the article above yours is automatic choke, i confused myself and overthought your question, it was posted up when i was tired, as a four speed originally it should have a reverse light switch in the identical place to the 5 speed(on the "extension housing" of the gearbox) they unscrew and are easily replaced....commonly broken away is the clear plastic covering the wires coming from the switch...other senario i have come across is the switch being left unplugged, trace the wires along the trans tunnel forward to the engine bay, entering the loom near the break booster happy hunting....

neal.
