Yep, TE weighs more and it has more anti-pollution (read: anti-power) gear so it doesn't make as much power, meaning it will be slower standard, that said, who drives a STANDARD gemini?? |

According to factory figures, a TD makes 61kw and a TE makes 50kw. This is due to a TD having 8.7:1 compression and a TE having 8.3:1 compression. A TE also weighs almost 50kg more, so a TD is a fair bit quicker. |

Also the TE has the smaller exhaust valve head, that said even with the heavier weight and less powerful engine, the difference is like still fairly academic, they are both very slow by modern standards.
Useful trivia: The weight of a TD sedan for the purposes of calculating maximum allowable engine capacity is 946kg. |
