Two grand should get your gemini going seriously hard, if you wanna stick to drop in engines then I would go a ported & polished G161z head (on a G180[bored to 2L] or G200 bottom end) with bigger valves, stiffer valve springs and a 30/70 cam, 10.5:1 static compression, fully balanced bottom end, lightened & balanced flywheel, twin 44mm IDF webers, extractors and a 2 1/4 inch sports exhaust. If you have any money left go for an electronic distributor to replace the points (which tend to melt if run at above 7000rpm for long periods).
That is what I would do, anyone care to discuss/argue/criticise/offer an alternative? |
