just wondering if ne1 knows of a stock electric fuel pump that can flow upwards of 9-10 psi. i need it so i dont lean my engine out. ive been told to look at mazda fuel pumps, like 808 or 929 pumps, but i was thinking more along the lines of a rotary fuel pump.
cheers

You will need an efi pump for big boost, as even the best carb pumps are only rated at around 15psi, which means you can only really run about 10psi of boost. I do know of a guy who uses a holley blue for high boost applications and is getting 20+psi from it. When you think about it though, a efi pump from the wreckers is a hell of a lot cheaper than any new pump off the shelf. The efi pump should be quite happy up to 70+ psi.
You should be able to tune your malpassi to give you an idle fuel pressure, regardless of what pressure you pump into it. Is this right? ie. is the malpassi regulator located in your return line? If so, you can plumb in an efi pump and the malpasssi will let you set the idle fuel pressure. It will then simply increase fuel pressure with boost pressure, as you know. |
