Locky,
I hear you have some info on the CDT! I put a post up a couple of weeks ago, but you may have missed it.
The thing is, I was wondering if it's scanned or scanable and emailable as I'm including a section for the CDT in my History of The Gemini document which will eventually be posted here on HotGemini.
I already have a price list (thanks to Julian Kenny) that describes what was available at the time, plus I have the article roadtesting the CDT Gemini S2 in Wheels Magazine October 1981 (found it yesterday!).
If you have anything to add to that, it would be a big help as the CDT is the hardest of all the Geminis to find information on (discounting, of course, the Daewoo Maepsy version!)
Please let me know if you can help either here in the Forum, or at gemini_panelvan@hotmail.com .
I just got an ICQ number - 130008412
Cheers,
Dave
PS - History of the Gemini now sits at 15,000 words!!! shit! |

Country Dealer Team
It's a long story, but briefly; after Holden relinquished control of HDT to Peter Brock, he consolidated the HDT participating dealerships (remember that HDT was Holden DEALER Team - as funded by the dealers and perhaps the factory, but only through the back door) to include only metropolitan dealerships. A few people were cheesed that their participation was no longer needed, and somebody set up the Country Dealer Team, also with the blessing (but no money from) Holden.
CDT Geminis debuted at Bathurst in 1980 and one came first in its class. In 1981, the effort was repeated, but one came to a grisly end somewhere on the mountain. Later, the CDT people decided to build some road cars to add help fund their racing, and the road-going CDT and CDT S2 were born. The S2 is the speccy model with twin-carbies and some other mods.
Read all about it soon!

Have you spoken to Arthur Jackson at Road and Rally or Race and Rally in Sydney. He had a lot to do with Geminis and there competitive years. He was also instrumental in setting up the Gemini series.
So much knowledge in this one man. |
