What do people set there valve clearences to with there 30/70cams? I have mine on factory but there still abit noisy.. |

The size of the cam should not affect how much rocker tip to valve clearance you need. This is a function of expansion of the valve.
You should set it to factory specs, although I usually set mine a little less to try and eliminate the tapping noise. I haven't found any adverse effects yet. |

Yeah, I usually close mine up my exhausts to 0.15mm (cold) and set the inlets to 0.10mm (cold). |

At work the owner sets all the clearances to .006 and .010. Hes been doing this for god know how long and it wotks well for him. Hence that is what I do. A bit of alve noise is ok. Some cars come in and we set them, and then try factory aswell and you cant get rid of the noise.
Just remember never go too small a gap. Not good. You'll know if it is too small coz it will back fire out the carb. |
