Can anyone help me, im looking at brake upgrades for my wagon im trying to bring back to life, I got turbo motor for it but now Id like it to stop, Ive researched volvo 4spot conversions, bit steep, other option is Piazza Vented discs, callipers and stubaxles, any body now if they do actually just bolt on and wheter the results are worth while!!

From what I know, the front discs and calipers will pretty much just bolt on. I can remember that there is one thing you have to modify but cant remember what. For the rear, the most cost effective solution would be to bolt up the rear end from a deisel gemini this includes - stronger diff, taller diff ratio, stronger axles and bigger drums. Piazza rear discs are a fair bit of work to put on I think.

This is actually what I'm doing soon. If I'm wrong that someone please fill me in Smile

commodore rear discs will bolt straight on just have to modify a few things for em to work. i'm pretty sure the diesel axles arn't any stronger but they have a different spline.

where do you get piazza front disc brakes from and how much do they cost?
are they ventilated?
and does it make a hell of difference in stopping power?

Yes the Piazza stubs bolt on, but make sure you get the tie rod ends as well as they have a different taper to gemini ones. There is only the bracket where the flexible brake line bolts to the inside of the guard on one side that you have to modify (I can't remember if it was the drivers or passenger side). But very simple. Mine cost $400 for the pair at a wreckers. They are hard to get a hold of nowdays.

Early Honda Accord vented front discs are supposed to bolt on also. I have had this recommended to me a couple of times. They are the same offset and PCD as the Gemini.
Isuzu also manufactured vented front discs for the PF60 Gemini. This modification was valid for Group 2 rallying. This change was made in Oct 1978.
The part number is 91305324, and the disc thickness was 22mm.
I currently have a mate in PNG who is on the lookout for me..
In regards to Piazza rear ends, you need to get the early one. Use the yolk on your car instead of the piazza one, modify the proportioning valve to give you more rear bias, and go see a boating or brake specialist to have a new Handbrake cable made. It should bolt straight in...
These things worked for me on my TG in '85.
I must get those pictures of it scanned, cause I would really like to get it back......
